Warehouse Chargehand Location, Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, Advertised By Agency, Job Type Full-Time, Warehouse Chargehand My client form an engineering concern is seeking a Warehosue CHargehand to join their team based in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor.

Main Function: Assist with the planning, executives of daily activities ensuring the smooth and efficient operations of warehouse. In addition, performs own fuction as storeman controlling PSP and PSB stores.

Requirements: Grade 12 with Stores and Inventory Management, Warehousing Management or Logistics qualification Minimum of 5 years experience in Controlling stores / warehouse duties in heavy engineering industry PC Literate Valid 3 ton forklift license Trucks and loading techniques is required Valid drivers license

Responsibility Duties: Ensures work details instruction steps are clearly communicated. Provides guidance for personnel in performing their duties. Provides direct oversight and lead assigned personnel in achieving schedule, productivity, quality, training and safety targets. Responsible for ensuring quality of work performed under his control is to accepted standard. Responsible for bringing queries, changes or issues to attention of supervision / management. Responsible for reporting personnel control at work performance and attendance matters to supervision and or management. Responsible from time to time for the carrying out of toolbox talks, obtaining personnel signature and filing of completed toolbox talk documentation. Provides supervisor staff with input on personnel evaluation. Read appropriate warehouse documentation to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed or shipped. Move items to appropriate areas. Assist in conducting physical inventories and cycle counts. Assist with the maintain inventory records by posting materials received and disbursed, writing shortage lists and distribution them as required. Responsible for operating the warehouse machinery in a sage manner and reporting any equipment maintenance of problems to immediate supervisor. Supervise staff in the daily performance of duties in absence of a supervisor or as assigned. Assists in task involving effort, active performance of a variety or works instructions with staff. To report to management for improvement to sections performance

Training of personnel: Ensure a smooth and complete work flow in the warehouse. Responsible for inventory accuracy. Control spare pats. Quality assurance duties. Safety, sanitation, security and housekeeping functions. Salary: RMarket Related
