Senior Accountant/Bookkeeper (Bellville), Location, Bellville, Northern Suburbs, Advertised By Agency, Job Type Full-Time

My client, a small to medium size new media communications and advertising company based in Bellville, offers a wide range of services such as digital design, graphic design, advertising and event management to small, medium and corporate businesses across a range of industries both locally and abroad. Due to the retirement of the current incumbent this vacancy for a senior accountant/bookkeeper will soon become available.

Duties will include: Responsibility for the full bookkeeping function, Payroll Administration (15 employees) on Pastel Payroll, VAT, PAYE and other statutory returns, Forecast cash-flow and manage budgets, Managing all debtors and creditors functions, Prepare and interpret management accounts, Liaise with the company’s external auditors and financial director, Prepare audit working papers, Administer the fixed asset register

Minimum qualifications and experience: B.Com degree (majoring in Accountancy/Financial Management) or Accounting Diploma, At least 5 years experience in a similar position, Sound knowledge of Pastel (including Pastel Payroll) or Sage One and Microsoft Office,

Behavioural Competencies: High ethical principals and standards, Above average problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills, Ability to work accurately, independently without direct supervision and constantly meeting deadlines, Ability to deal with various issues simultaneously and to priorities,

Salary: R20000 to R25000 per month negotiable based on skills and experience
