Field workers needed for health study Urgent, Location, Stellenbosch, Cape Winelands, Advertised By Private, Job Type Contract

We are conducting a study to consider the quality of health care at various health care facilities in the Cape Town area.

We are looking for candidates who have field work experience in the health care sector and are available full-time for from mid-June to end-July 2016, with the possibility of also being involved in a similar study in another province. Suitable candidates will be appointed as independent, short-term contractors.

Tasks and Responsibilities: Attend the 3 full-day (paid) training in Stellenbosch (mid-June). During the study period of around 4-6 weeks, travel to various health care facilities in the Cape Town area to help assess the quality of care.

Job Requirements: a) Knowledge and Experience Matriculation exemption is a minimum requirement; a tertiary qualification would be advantageous.

Field work experience Previous field work experience in the health sector is a plus Speak /read and write English and isiXhosa, and English or Afrikaans and have the ability to communicate in other South African languages.

b) Personal Competencies Strong communication and interpersonal skills, Pro-active attitude excellent judgment and decision making skills, Flexible attitude Candidate must possess integrity and professionalism in their position and be honest and reliable. Good time management skills. The candidate must be sensitive to cultural differences as well as political, confidential and ethical issues pertaining to collected information.

c) Availability mid-June to end-July 2016 Rate of payment Field workers will be paid per health facility interaction, with the possibility of weekly bonuses for good performance. It is anticipated that most of the work will happen during the mornings (half day).
