Underground Maintenance Manager Mobile Fleet, Contract Fly-In-Fly-Out position in the mining sector in a remote and safe area of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.  Single status position with a six day working week. Reports to the Engineering Manager.

Please Note: Regrettably, we are unable to consider candidates who do not have prior mining industry experience. (This is a crucial requirement and not negotiable).

Key Technical Skills Required: Mechanical/Electrical/Maintenance Engineering Degree. More than 10 years experience in managing maintenance area including mobile equipments for underground operations. Knowledge of equipments Atlas Copco, hoisting system in vertical shaft, pumping system for Underground operations, Africa experience advantageous. Computer skills in mechanical software for costing and planning. Experience in negotiating and administration of Service Contracts.

Key Competencies Required: Experience in management of cost, planning and execution of services as well as training people. Administration of maintenance department. Leadership and good planner for all UG jobs. Commitment in costing controlling and implementation of standard and procedures for maintenance department. Fluency in English; and some French (advantageous).

Remuneration and Benefits: Tax free salary with bonus potential, Leave is 84 days per annum, The rotation is not a given it must fit in with business/departmental priorities and be approved by the Line Manager in advance of booking, some people do 8:2, some 9:3 and it doesn’t have to be stringent, but all South Africans must do 10 weeks (63 days) continuously in anyone tax year out of the Country to retain tax free status.
