Silverlea Early Childhood Services (SECS) is a secular, non-profit NGO working to support and encourage children with disabilities to become empowered and integrated members of their communities, and to support families in realising these goals for their children within their family, school and community in Far West NSW.

The Opportunity: We are seeking an experienced, dynamic leader to build on the organisation’s existing brand and operational capabilities.

Your role will encompass business development and fundraising, and requires you to liaise effectively with government, education providers, families and the general community.

You will have strong interpersonal skills, experience in marketing and communications and a genuine passion for working with children with disabilities, and supporting families. You will have experience in managing a disability casework service and a keen understanding of the dynamics of the changing landscape of the NDIS and enjoy a hands on role.

You will provide vision, direction and leadership to the delivery of SECS strategic and business plan. You will have a positive impact on the culture of the organisation and growth and expansion of the organisation by consultation with the Board, the Staff, and community, governments and community service stakeholders.

You will work closely with the Board, the Staff and community, governments and community service stakeholders to ensure the organisation is appropriately and responsibly shaped and structurally able to meet the challenges of a changing funding environment.

You will ensure that the Board is kept consistently informed of financial, service delivery and human resource issues affecting the organisation and its programs in the changing environment of the NDIS.

What your day will look like: Leading and mentoring a team of 3 dedicated Case Workers, and an Office Manager. You will be responsible for operational management of the service, as well as managing Case Workers and engaging as a Case Worker with clients if required.

A clear understanding of and willingness to drive change through the NDIS implementation process is also required. The successful applicant will also be identifying and providing training opportunities to allow for comprehensive professional development. Strengthening and implementing outreach, and liaising with therapy providers and education providers is also a key component of this role.

About you: You will have at least 2 years of experience as a Disability and/or Early Childhood Worker with a relevant qualification. A strong project management background with the ability to identify and implement best practice outreach policies and procedures.

You will be a natural leader with strong communication and time management skills, wanting to make a difference in the lives of children with disabilities and families of children with disabilities in the Far West of NSW. A strong commitment to inclusion of children with disabilities is a must.

All applicants will be required to hold a current Working with Children Check (NSW) and a clear Criminal Record Check. A current first aid certificate (or willingness to obtain) is also essential.
