Category Growth Manager

In this key strategic marketing role, the Category Manager will be responsible for driving net new user acquisition across multiple categories (ie: romance, scifi, adventure, non-fiction, etc.).  You will be accountable for the strategy and growth of both our readers and writers by constantly running methodical marketing experiments - hypothesizing, testing, measuring, and learning from these experiments and using your learnings in subsequent iterations. You will be doing all this in a fast and furious startup environment, pushing for rapid results!
What you will be doing:
    Create and execute on the strategies that will drive overall growth of users across multiple genres (readers and writers).
    You will be in charge of building and implementing programs that wow and are proven by growth and retention - its a mixture of creativity, analytical thinking, methodical processes, and pure hustle!
    Hypothesize, test, measure and learn to drive scalable and repeatable processes.
    Through the use of data, dashboards, research, and partnership with the Data team, you will extract and develop meaningful insights from campaigns to track performance and gain deep understanding of your categories to drive growth.
    You will manage multiple genres at the same time and apply learnings across these genres. Your successful initiatives and partnership with the Product team will inform new versions of our product.
    You will partner closely with a highly cross-functional team to generate insights, solve acquisition and retention challenges, inform business and product decisions to drive the growth of your categories across content, marketing, business, product, and community levers.
    You will be responsible for the campaigns, events, contest and PR strategies for your categories.
What we are looking for:
    A seasoned marketer with a minimum of 6-8 years of relevant marketing experience
    At least 2+ years of hands on acquisition marketing experience in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment, and have numbers to back it up!
    Exceptional program management skills, especially running multiple programs simultaneously, across multiple categories - you can pat your head and rub your stomach at the same time!
    Proven experience designing and optimizing meaningful acquisition experiments and assessing results.
    A love for marketing, including the endless pursuit of knowledge and a drive to methodically experiment, test, and improve.
    Highly entrepreneurial mindset - you have the drive to take ownership of everything from strategy to small-details execution.
    Familiarity with pirate/growth metrics, and experience forming strong working relationships with data/insights teams.
    Strong analytical skills - able to analyze data and drive meaningful actions & summarize conclusions, based on your findings.
    Highly collaborative team player with history of forming effective cross-functional partnerships.
