Job Description 1 (for museums sales position):We are currently looking for a sales person to assist in growing our US customer base in traditional and online independent retail accounts. This individual will work from our Victoria office. This position does require travel to the US for various industry tradeshows and meetings with retailers, although most communications with customers will be conducted via the Internet and telephone. The ideal applicant would have previous work experience selling to museum gift stores, zoos, nature stores, and gift stores targeting the tourist market.
Main responsibilities:
Establish, service, and grow traditional and non-traditional independent retail accounts in the United States, targeting museums, zoos, nature stores, national parks, gift/tourist stores.
Job Description 2 (for independent toys sales position):
We are currently looking for a sales person to assist in growing our US customer base in traditional and online independent retail accounts. This individual will work from our Victoria office. This position does require travel to the US for various industry tradeshows and meetings with retailers, although most communications with customers will be conducted via the Internet and telephone. The ideal applicant would have previous work experience selling to independent/specialty toy retailers and the educational market.
Main responsibilities:
Establish, service, and grow traditional and non-traditional independent retail accounts in the United States, targeting specialty toy retailers and specialty educational and school supply retailers.
Required Qualifications for both positions:
Proven passion for superior sales performance. Excellent work ethic - you will be working with a team of hard-working, self-motivated individuals who work with minimal supervision. Self motivation and a strong work ethic are an absolute requirement. Due to the educational nature of our games, excellent writing skills are necessary. Any successful applicant must be able to write efficiently and clearly. Valid passport and driver’s license required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Above all, any successful applicant must value the importance of customer service in a small business environment. Experience working in the toy/gift industry an asset.
Additional Information:
Outset Media is a small company with fewer than 20 employees in our Victoria office. Therefore, in addition to the above responsibilities, any successful applicant may be required to assume a variety of non-related responsibilities. Applicants must be comfortable working in a constantly-changing small business environment.
